Lie-Szu Juang
Chair and Chief Strategy Officer
- Lie-Szu Juang currently serves as Chair and Chief Strategy Officer of Global Unichip Corp. (GUC).
- Before joining GUC, Lie-Szu Juang spent 29 years at TSMC and most recently served as Senior Director of the Design and Technology Platform operation. Since joining TSMC in 1996, she played a key role in advancing foundry design platform integration, driving collaboration model innovation, and strengthening customer design interface leadership. Prior to TSMC, she worked on ASIC and microprocessor designs at AT&T Bell Laboratories.
- Lie-Szu Juang is widely recognized for her expertise in resolving complex technical challenges through cross-functional collaboration between TSMC and customer teams. She received the National Industrial Innovation Award in 2012, the National Outstanding Manager Award in 2016, and the Global Semiconductor Alliance Rising Women of Influence Award in 2020.
- Lie-Szu Juang received her B.S. from National Taiwan University and her M.S. degree from the University of Pennsylvania, both in Electrical Engineering.
Sean Tai
President
- Dr. Sean Tai joined GUC as the Co-President on December 1, 2021 and was named as the President on January 28, 2022.
- After holding various positions in AT&T Bell Laboratories, TSMC, Winbond Electronics and Silicon Touch, he was the Chief Business Development Officer for Realtek Semiconductor Corporation from 2007 to 2014 and also acted as the General Manager for both Realtek China & Japan. Prior to joining GUC, Dr. Sean Tai served as the President for Nuvoton Technology Corporation from 2014 to 2021 and successfully completed the acquisition of Panasonic Semiconductor Business.
- Dr. Sean Tai received his B.S. from National Taiwan University and both M.S. & Ph.D. degrees from Yale University all in Electrical Engineering.
Louis Lin
Senior Vice President
- Dr. Louis Lin currently serves as Senior Vice President of Design Service.
- Dr. Louis Lin joined GUC in 1998 and was appointed Vice President of Design Service at GUC in November 2013. Dr. Louis Lin has over 20 years of experience in various ASIC design fields including design methodology development, low power design, SOC chip implementation, program management, etc.
- Dr. Louis Lin received his Ph.D. degree in Electronics Engineering from National Chiao Tung University.
Justin Hsieh
Senior Vice President
- Justin Hsieh currently serves as Senior Vice President of Packaging and Testing Engineering and Quality and Reliability Assurance.
- Justin Hsieh joined GUC in 2006. He has over 30 years of experience in operations, IC/SoC packaging and testing engineering, quality and reliability assurance, and process management in semiconductor industry. Prior to joining GUC, Justin Hsieh accumulated 18 years of experiences in UMC, Mosel Vitelic, and ITRI.
- Justin Hsieh received his M.S. degree in Photonics Engineering from National Chiao Tung University.
Patrick Wang
Senior Vice President & Chief Revenue Officer
- Patrick Wang currently serves as Senior Vice President & Chief Revenue Officer.
- Patrick Wang joined GUC in 2022. Prior to joining GUC, Patrick Wang was a successful sales professional and a well experienced team leader with a demonstrated history of working at 2 leading semiconductor companies, Realtek and Nuvoton. He has extensive expertise in business development, sales, product marketing, project management, and leading diverse global sales teams.
- Patrick Wang received his MBA degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
James Liao
Vice President & Chief Finance Officer
- James Liao currently serves as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
- James Liao joined GUC in 2025 and brings more than 20 years of extensive experience in the semiconductor and consumer electronics industries. His expertise spans financial management, accounting, and corporate strategic planning.
- James Liao began his career at MediaTek, where he gained comprehensive experience across key finance functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost control, and general ledger management. Before joining GUC, he served as Chief Financial Officer, Spokesperson, and Board Member at FocalTech Systems, where he was responsible for financial reporting, investor relations, regulatory compliance, and investment management — demonstrating strong leadership and strategic execution capabilities.
- James Liao received Bachelor's degree in Accounting and MBA degree in Marketing, both from National Taiwan University.
